Notice of Position: Provincial (B.C.) Anti-Racism Data Committee
Introduced in May 2022, the Anti-Racism Data Act is a monumental step toward dismantling systemic racism in B.C. by enabling the collection and use of information to help identify hidden inequalities in government services and programs. The legislation was drafted in collaboration with Indigenous, Black and other people of colour. Moving forward, we want to ensure that implementation is also informed by lived experienced of Indigenous Peoples and other racialized communities.
