At ISCC we are excited to launch our research project, Improving Collaboration in Calgary for Better Employment Outcomes for Immigrants.

This ground-breaking research will shine a light on how organizations and industry partners are working together to improve immigrants’ opportunities for meaningful employment and integration in the job market. As a result, we hope to learn about services available to help immigrants, changing immigration and employment policies, and what we need to do in the future to link immigrants to the job market. Our focus is on collaboration and action: how do we work together for better labour market outcomes and inform future programs going forward.

The purpose of this event is to build a broad base of participation and contribute to the success of this research. We believe there is value to our industry partners and sector stakeholders participating in this launch and having their voices heard through the research.

At this event we want to gain valuable feedback from industry partners – including immigrant serving agencies as well as employers – and ISCC members. Discussion will focus on the role of stakeholders in the research and critical steps for advancing research and action.

Julie Drolet will also share her insights on employers’ role in bringing newcomers into the Canadian labour market.
