Over the years I have developed research expertise in the areas of sociocultural and sociopolitical perspectives on language learning, particularly on English as an Additional Language (EAL). Specifically, I have published in the areas of intercultural communication between immigrant parents and teachers, introducing immigrant parent knowledge to teacher education, supporting pre-service teachers to engage with diversity, translanguaging practices and transnational identities of immigrant children, content-based EAL, hegemony of English as a global language and critical multilingualism, and international education.
