Olga Shcherbyna is a Social Planner with the City of Surrey and acts as a Surrey Local Immigration Partnership Coordinator. Surrey is one of the fastest growing communities in British Columbia and it has been a primary destination for refugees in the province (25-50% of all refugees in BC have settled in Surrey in 2011-2016). Surrey LIP brings 30 organizations to work together to make Surrey more welcoming and inclusive.
Olga holds M.Sc in Economics and M.Sc. in Urban Planning. Olga has over 14 years of experience working in the immigrant integration sector and published several publication on social policy and immigrant settlement issues, including a chapter in Planning Canada: A Case Study Approach (Oxford Press, 2016).
